Your 2020 Financial Wellness Organizer

Yowzers! 2019 has been a VERY full year.

For me, it's been a year full of zigs and zags. I’ve noticed that as we navigate the zigs and zags of life, there are often things that we put in the “Parking Lot” as we zip by. Back when I used to sit in lots of beige conference rooms and participate in corporate brainstorming sessions, the facilitator would inevitably field an idea from someone and write it on the big sticky note with “Parking Lot” scribbled across the top. This was the page where all of the ideas, questions, and comments that needed to be addressed by someone, someday would be captured. Parking Lot items were typically deemed important, but you probably weren’t going to talk about them that day…

Paying attention to our financial journey is something that often lands in the parking lot. It’s important, and we will deal with it…later.

So, when is the best time to organize your financial picture? The answer to that question is always the same….now!

Some might consider December a particularly good time to look more deeply at your personal finances, understand your numbers, and review your plans – it’s the end of the year, and it can feel really good to start fresh in January! And this month we’re also closing out a decade, so it may be an even better time to dive into your financial goals – and prioritize your wellness!
